Privacy Policy

We restrict access to all nonpublic personal information about you to members of our firm who need to know that information to provide services to you. We do collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on tax preparation organizers, worksheets, federal and state tax reporting forms, and from other documents we use in the tax preparation or other financial and related services.
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, and others, and
  • Information we may receive from outside agencies such as banks and brokerage houses.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our clients or former clients, except as permitted, required, or approved by you in writing or as listed below:

  • Requirements to comply with federal, state, or local law,
  • Requirements to comply with national, state, or local licensing rules,
  • Requirements to disclose information in response to legal subpoenas,
  • Items you permit or request us to disclose, as authorized by you in writing,
  • Information which you authorize us to disclose by signing this engagement letter, to electronically file your tax return, when applicable, and
  • Information, which you authorize us to disclose by signing this engagement letter, that discloses that you are our client, without disclosure of financial or other personal information.

Effective January 1, 2009, we are now prohibited from providing confidential information without written consent from you. To comply, we provide all copies of all returns through SafeSend Returns. Your use of this SafeSend is limited to lawful income tax related documents in compliances with our written electronic exchange policy and will be maintained and accessible solely in accordance with our policy for no more than 30 days after any notification of termination of services by either party, after which point it will be electronically deleted. Electronic exchange policy available upon request. To maintain service quality and timeliness, we use a 3rd party service provider to assist us in technology use to facilitate compliance with disclosure and storage of your tax information. The provider has procedures and controls designed to protect client confidentiality and maintain data security. I understand that you may ask to verify your id, birthdate, and/or social security number when you call our office to minimize identity theft.

We may communicate with you or others via email transmission. As emails can be intercepted and read, disclosed, or otherwise used or communicated by an unintended third party, or may not be delivered to each of the parties to whom they are directed and only to such parties, we cannot guarantee or warrant those emails from us will be properly delivered and read only by the addressee. Therefore, we specifically disclaim and waive any liability or responsibility whatsoever for interception or unintentional disclosure of emails transmitted by us in connection with the performance of this engagement. In that regard, you agree that we shall have no liability for any loss or damage to any person or entity resulting from the use of email transmissions, including any consequential, incidental, direct, indirect, or special damages, such as loss of revenues or anticipated profits, or disclosure or communication of confidential or proprietary information.
